Events (formerly Social Engagement)
Led by board members Kimyn Braithwaite, Jeffrey Dumlao, Mitchell Woodrow, the DTNA Events Committee activates and strengthens community life in the Duboce Triangle by coordinating or supporting inclusive, neighborhood-centered events that welcome all who live and work here - including families, young adults, LGBTQ neighbors, and local merchants. Through our events strategy we aim to grow membership and fundraising for DTNA, meet people where they're at, encourage active participation, and educate neighbors about DTNA's advocacy work. The Committee's priorities in 2026: 1. Enhanced Bi-Monthly Neighborhood Meetings - We'll enhance our hosted meetings with themed activations, food and beverages, decor, and activities that promote engagement and community spirit like Valentine's card-making, plant swaps, Pride celebrations, and seasonal crafts. 2. 1-2 Signature DTNA-Hosted Events - We will write grants for in the hopes of executing 1-2 signature events that promote DTNA, celebrate the neighborhood, and encourage membership growth and fundraising opportunities. Join Us! If you want to learn more and volunteer at one of the events we sponsor or are affiliated with, email social@dtna.org. To see upcoming events, click here.
