  • Demonstrate using hands-on activities, storyboards, and Q&A in order to bring the times and the people to life.
  • Foster use of the park by all

Logistics
History Day is free and open to all. We’ll have an opening introduction land acknowledgement followed by staffing at 6 stations thematically tied to a general timeline, starting with First Nations through modern day. The History is meant to convey the history and geography of the general area around Dolores Park - with mentions of how that history ties to the larger SF history.

Visitors to the Park can pickup a map and “passport” to 6 stations at the “Love Dolores” station. The passport can be validated as a visitor goes to each station group. (A number of completed validations entitles the visitor to various give-away items by returning to the “Love Dolores” station). Visitors do not need a passport to visit the stations.

At each stations, representatives (have prepared materials (handouts, story boards, activities, etc). Visitors typically spend about 10-15 minutes at each station before moving on, though some visitors are very engaged, ask questions, etc… and will stay longer,
