President Peter Albert invited applications for several open board seats. He reported progress on continuing concerns:

• Cal-Pacific Medical Center will soon begin seismic upgrade construction at the
• Davies branch.
• The Safeway perimeter negotiations
• Cafe Flore proposed changes affecting the neighborhood
• Report of the traffic and safety improvements for Halloween.

Board member Mark Sheuer, with the Friends of Duboce Park, announced that the water fountain has been repaired, used IV needles were found in the park and police made an inspection and a report. Sheuer suggested that anyone who finds needles or other debris should call 28-CLEAN for assistance.

Friends of Duboce Park is seeking volunteers to help clean-up the park on the second Saturdays of every month, from 9 a.m. to noon. A gardener upervises and supplies tools. Volunteers should wear work clothes and work gloves.

Selection of a DTNA president and other board positions will be held at the Jan. 10 public meeting at Davies Hospital, Level B Auditorium. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.
