President/s Message

By Peter Albert, DTNA President

You may be spent after voting on November 2, but please see us through one more election process - in your very own backyard. We will be electing a new president for DTNA in January: you can meet the candidates at our November 8 meeting.

I will not serve as President next year but I will help whomever you choose to lead our neighborhood. There will be great new things and troubling prospects, and the DTNA Board relies on your participation to give us guidance as we deal with one and the other.

We are lucky to have the attention of the Mayor's Office, our Supervisor, the Police, the Planning Department, Parking & Traffic, Parks & Recreation and other agencies. Whether the project has been Trader Joe's, Halloween, CPMC-Davies, Cafe Flore, or Harvey Milk Center, we've been able to make our case where it needed to be heard.

As some Board members have "retired," three new Board members have joined us: Rodd Aubrey, Nelson Mitchell, and Eric Dupre.

There may be a vacant seat or two still - I can assure you, a seat is waiting for anyone willing to assume the role of DTNA Treasurer. Mark Banta is looking to step down after serving us well for so many years, and he will mentor anyone who steps up to the task. We are also looking for assistance with the newsletter, including graphic design, article writing and distribution.
