DTNA March 8, 2004 Pubic Meeting Report
Better Neighborhoods: District 8 Supervisor Dufty recently held a meeting to review the traffic congestion of major crossings in the upper Market Street area affecting Duboce Triangle residents. Several changes are being made after neighborhood representatives gave input.
Homeless Youth Housing: Supervisor Dufty reported progress on his plan to house up to 12 homeless youth at the Perramont Hotel. For more information, contact Dustin Blake, the Supervisor's Legislative Assistant.
Undergrounding Utilities: Undergrounding utilities on Pierce, Waller, and Duboce Streets is scheduled to begin in the near future. Eric Dupre regularly represents DTNA at the monthly meetings with DPW.
Davies Changes: CPMC Davies will soon begin earth- quake retrofitting. CPMC plans to build a new medical facility on the site of the present Cathedral Hill hotel. Eventually, Davies will specialize in Rehabilitation and Microsurgery. The ER and Acute Care will probably stay at the Davies Campus.
Mayor Newsom Meetings: Mayor Gavin Newsom hopes to hold monthly meetings to meet with selected representatives of the neighborhood associations. DTNA is waiting to schedule this meeting in the near future.
