Friends of Duboce Park Tag Sale on September 20

The Sixth Annual Friend of Duboce Park Tag Sale will be held in Duboce Park on Saturday, September 20, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Donations will be gratefully accepted from Tuesday, September 16 through Friday, September 19, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. The drop-off location is the big yellow rental truck that will be parked near the Photo Center. You can also bring your donations to the Park on the morning of the tag sale, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. All donations are tax deductible and tax receipts will be available. We will accept just about anything one would consider giving to a friend. The following items, however, cannot be accepted: computers, peripherals, and manuals; broken, worn, or dirty furniture; large appliances; magazines, textbooks, or encyclopedias; hazardous waste materials.

We still need volunteers to help out on the day of the Tag Sale. If you have any questions, need help moving something, want to volunteer, or join our crazy sales force, please contact Janet Scheuer by phone or email, 252-0907, or scheuersf@aol.com.

General Membership Meeting
Wednesday, September 10, 7-8:30 p.m.

The quarterly membership meeting of the Friends of Duboce Park will be held at the Harvey Milk Rec Center on Wednesday, September 10, at 7:00 p.m. At this meeting we will provide an update on our ongoing projects, as well other activities that con- cern Duboce Park. These include plans for the Scott Street labyrinth, new lighting, the bulletin board, community programming, Harvey Milk Rec Center renovations, and park maintenance. The meeting will be co-sponsored by SF Rec & Park since it will be used to get public input on the actual plans for the labyrinth. A special feature of this meeting will be a draft presentation of a Five-Year Organization Plan for the Friends of Duboce Park. When com- pleted, this Plan will serve as a roadmap of our future activities-the goals and objectives that we will pursue, as a community-based organization, over the next five years.

To ensure that our Plan is both inclusive and representative, we need your input. This is your opportunity to help shape our vision for the Park. Let us know your thoughts.
